Q Art Project is now open

Wyndham City is delighted to announce entries are now open for the Q Art Project.

Wyndham's Youth Services invites young people between 12 and 25 with a connection to Wyndham to enter an art expression of sexuality and gender identity.

Q Art Project is an initiative that seeks to include young people's art expression in our community. The project aims to empower and celebrate Wyndham's young, diverse community and improve broader community awareness of gender diversity and sexuality.

Wyndham City's Creative City portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud, said: "The Q Art Project is a great opportunity for young Wyndham creatives between the ages of 12 and 25, whether traditional artists, illustrators, writers or inspiring fashion designers and make-up artists. Entries can take many forms and can be as creative as you like. All creatives are encouraged to enter."

You can submit a short story, poetry, drawing, comic, painting and photography (including fashion and make up)."

Entries can be submitted online or in person at the Youth Resource Centre between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday until the 31 May 2022.

Successful entries will receive $300 and be included in the Q Art Project; LGBTQIA+ self-expression art book. The art book will include the selected art expressions of rainbow identifying youth aged 12-25 with a connection to Wyndham.

The selection process is curated by Council officers and Headspace Werribee.

Entries close on 31 May 2022.
