The front lines of public safety will clash this weekend in Rockhampton for the 2nd annual Queensland Police Service vs Queensland Corrective Services charity rugby league day.
After an incredibly successful day last year which saw over $20,000 raised for charity, the two public safety agencies will clash once again at Browne Park on Saturday 30 November.
The gates open at 2.30pm, and entry is just $5 which will go to Give Me 5 for Kids and Yeppoon bushfire victims.
The charity day kicks off with a children's clinic at 3pm, old boy's game at 4pm, women's game at 5.30pm and the main game at 7pm. There will also be a number of raffles throughout the day.
Superintendent of Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) Alexis Livingstone said that QCS pulled off a good win last year, but she was wary that QPS will be fired up to try and take the title.
'Our guys are coming back to reclaim their title, but we know the QPS will have a bit of extra fire in their bellies from last year." Superintendent Livingstone said.
'We work closely with our colleagues at the QPS daily to keep our communities safe, so being able to raise funds and give back to those communities while having a bit of friendly rivalry with them is terrific.
Our officers at CCC work collaboratively as a team everyday while they perform their duties, so you will see that reflected on the field on Saturday.'
