We were honoured to host the Corrective Services Administrators Council Indigenous Senior Officers' Working Group Conference at the QCS Academy this week.
Senior officers from each State and Territory and New Zealand work collaboratively and meet each year to share information on current strategies that are in place in each jurisdiction to address Indigenous over-representation.
The Working Group has been instrumental in developing strategies including the Minimum Standard for managing Indigenous prisoners and offenders in Corrections across Australia and New Zealand, as well as the Indigenous Strategic Framework 2016, and has improved services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in this country and in New Zealand over its years of operation.
