A woman from Monto in the North Burnett was taken aback when she found out about her incredible $1.8 million win in the recent Saturday Gold Lotto.
This fortunate winner secured one of the 11 division one winning entries in the Saturday Gold Lotto 4409 on Saturday, 21 October 2023, taking home a whopping prize of $1,818,198.12.
“Oh my god! I’m shaking. I can’t believe I’ve won $1.8 million. I’ve never won anything like that in my life. I don’t think I’ll be telling many people, but I’ll definitely be celebrating tonight! I’d love to put the prize towards a house. I’ve always wanted to own a home in my name", she told lottery officials.
The winning 18-game ticket was bought at Monto Newsagency, located at 33 Newton Street in Monto.
Therese Roger, the owner of Monto Newsagency, was equally thrilled by the news.
"My first reaction when I first found out on Saturday night was ‘Oh my god! How exciting!’," she remarked.
"We’ve only ever sold one other division one winning entry back in 2014 so our local community will be thrilled. We’ve started to celebrate this win with my amazing team at Monto Newsagency, and I recognize their efforts and hard work."
