Sgt Kelly Bright and the Honourable Shannon Fentiman M, Queensland Police sayP

Earlier today at the Eatons Hill Function Centre, RizeUp Australia held its annual High Tea fundraiser which saw 350 attendees raise in excess of $10,000 to support the many families affected by domestic and family violence.

The funds raised support the work of RizeUp including with the costs of all the incidentals and necessities such as truck hire, storage costs, linen, food and the like to ensure families who flee a violent household have a house that feels like a home and clothes on their backs.

The event, in its fourth year, was again hosted by one of the organisation’s patrons Shelley Craft with special guests, the Honourable Shannon Fentiman, Minister of Communities, Women and Youth, Child Safety and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and journalist Kay McGrath.

RizeUp Founder and CEO Nicolle Edwards facilitated a raw and engaging panel conversation about what it is like at the domestic violence front line with perspectives shared from Sergeant Kelly Bright, Pine Rivers Domestic and Family Violence Liaison Officer.
