The Crisafulli Government is delivering more jobs and better services through a stronger economy, by strengthening economic ties with Indonesia and attracting new investment into Queensland's resources industry.
Indonesian government representatives, investors and mining leaders will meet in Brisbane today at the IndOz 2026 Mining and Resources Industry Roundtable, to hear first-hand about the investment opportunities available in Queensland's resources sector.
Discussions will focus on key resource commodities, including coal and critical minerals alongside mining technology, processing, manufacturing, supply chains and how Queensland and Indonesia can create more value from their shared strengths.
Discussions build on existing commercial ties including Dhilmar Limited's acquisition of Anglo American's five steel-making coal mines this year, supporting 3550 Queensland jobs.
The Crisafulli Government is accelerating the extraction, processing and export of high-quality critical minerals to the world, and driving new investment into projects and infrastructure.
Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Dale Last said Queensland was open for business and the Crisafulli Government was ready to work with Indonesian partners to unlock new investment and jobs.
"After a decade where Labor failed to actively pursue the international investment market, the Crisafulli Government is taking a different approach," Minister Last said.
"Queensland and Indonesia are both resource powerhouses, and there is a huge opportunity to do more together.
"Today's roundtable is about turning conversations into investment outcomes.
"We want Indonesia and global investors to choose Queensland as a destination for investment, jobs and long-term growth.
"When we attract investment, we create jobs. When we create jobs, we strengthen regional communities. That's exactly what the Crisafulli Government is focused on delivering.
"Queensland offers the resources, expertise and certainty businesses need to invest with confidence and grow for the long term.
"Strong partnerships create strong economies. That's why we're working with Indonesian businesses and investors to turn shared opportunities into investment, jobs and long-term growth."
Australia Indonesia Business Council Queensland Vice Chair David Widjaja said the roundtable provided an important opportunity for investors, industry and government to strengthen connections and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
"The IndOz Conference 2026 Queensland Mining Investor Connect Roundtable is an important opportunity to strengthen the strong and growing partnership between Queensland and Indonesia, particularly with Indonesian mining investors who are already making a valuable contribution to our state," Mr Widjaja said.
"Through this Roundtable we want Indonesian investors to know that the Queensland Government welcomes their investment and is committed to working alongside them to help make their investments successful.
"Strong partnerships are built on relationships, and this Roundtable provides an important opportunity to listen to investors, understand their priorities and ensure they have the support they need to grow their businesses in Queensland.
"Bringing together Indonesian investors with government, industry and other investment partners creates a valuable platform to share ideas, build connections and identify new opportunities for collaboration."
