The Crisafulli Government is delivering more funding to support multicultural events which unite communities and celebrate our State's diversity.

Applications are now open for organisations seeking up to $20,000 in support through Round 2 of the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland grants program.

The Celebrating Multicultural Queensland grants program has been split into two funding rounds of $500,000 this year.

It's part of the Crisafulli Government's plan to deliver a fresh start and ensure the State's multicultural community feels welcome and valued.

The funding must be used for multicultural events to be held in the second half of 2026 and can include intercultural sporting events or multicultural festivals.

The first round supports events taking place between 1 January and 30 June 2026, and the second round is for events between 1 July and 31 December 2026.

Minister for Multiculturalism Fiona Simpson said the program's new split format ensured year-round support for cultural events across the state.

"The Celebrating Multicultural Queensland program received strong interest during Round 1 and we will be notifying the successful grant recipients in the coming weeks," Minister Simpson said.

"This funding pool supports cultural events to reach further across the community and encourage Queenslanders from different backgrounds to build shared bridges of understanding to strengthen our social cohesion.

"Queensland's modern history has been written by people from all over the world, and we recognise that every culturally and linguistically diverse community contributes something unique to our story.

"While Labor took our multicultural communities for granted, the Crisafulli Government is committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to engage with, and celebrate, the incredibly diverse range of cultures within our state."

Round 2 applications close on 13 December.
