The 2025-26 Budget is delivering for 2032 and beyond, with world-class venues, infrastructure, villages and a positive legacy to last for Queenslanders.

After more than 1,200 days of Games chaos under the former Labor Government, the Crisafulli Government's first Budget delivers $4.7 billion to get on with delivering the Games.

The Budget sees the first funding for the 2032 Delivery Plan, which puts Queensland on track to deliver a successful 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games legacy with:

  • $3.8 billion provisioned for the total venues program over the forward estimates, including the new main stadium at Victoria Park, out of the total $7.1 billion funding envelope.
  • $847 million to fund the decisions to proceed with Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Centre, Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre, Barlow Park Stadium, and Logan Indoor Sports Centre projects.
  • Increased funding of $308.5 million over four years for the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority to progress with a delivery partner consistent with the recommendation in the 100 Day Review and deliver, on behalf of Government, new and upgraded venues.
  • An initial provision of $950 million over four years out of a total State investment of $3.5 billion for the delivery of athlete villages with the private sector, including the Brisbane Athlete Village and RNA showground upgrade, the Sunshine Coast Athletes Village incorporating the Sunshine Coast arena, and the Gold Coast and Rockhampton Athlete Village.

Premier David Crisafulli said the Budget was delivering for 2032 and beyond, with the first funding for the 2032 Delivery Plan.

"The 2032 Games are a once in a generation opportunity and we've delivered the funds to make it count with a lasting legacy," Premier Crisafulli said.

"This Budget sets the stage for a successful Games, while also creating an event Queenslanders will be proud of, that also delivers benefits far beyond 2032."

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, Jarrod Bleijie said the 2025-26 Queensland Budget would progress the implementation of the 2032 Delivery Plan.

"We're getting on with the job to deliver the 2032 Games with world-class success for Queensland in 2032 and beyond," Deputy Premier Bleijie said.

"Since releasing the plan in March work is well underway to get these Games back on track.

"This Budget delivers funding certainty for venues, villages and transport infrastructure needed to make this a historic event that all Queenslanders can benefit from."

Minister for Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the Budget ensured all of Queensland would share in the benefits of the Games.

"We are not only delivering the venues needed for the Games, but we're also delivering grassroots sporting infrastructure upgrades across Queensland, to benefit the next generation of Queensland athletes," Minister Mander said.

"While GIICA now gets on with implementing the 2032 Delivery Plan, we are also funding the Olympic and Paralympic Games Office to ensure these Games are a success."
