The Crisafulli Government is backing primary producers this National Ag Day by continuing to deliver for Queensland farmers and the rural and regional communities they underpin.

National Agriculture Day occurs every third Friday in November to recognise and celebrate Australia's farming sector that provides world class food and fibre.

This year's theme is "Stand with the Land" inviting Australians to express solidarity with farmers and regional communities who have navigated record breaking floods, devastating droughts and other challenges.

Queensland's primary industries are a significate driver of our State's economy and underpin our regional and rural communities.

The industry is forecast to have produced a record $26.79 billion worth of goods in 2024-25, supporting businesses throughout the supply chain and directly employing around 65,000 workers.

In addition to producing top quality sustainable food and fibre for Australians, approximately $17.6 billion of our agricultural goods were exported in 2024-25 – a record for our State.

During Labor's decade of decline, Queensland's primary industries sector received insufficient support and was left to wither on the vine.

Within one year of forming government the Crisafulli Government has delivered a landmark 25-year blueprint Primary Industries Prosper 2050 which was developed through the largest stakeholder collaboration industry has seen in at least a decade.

The Crisafulli Government has also commenced rebuilding our biosecurity frontline by boosting the ranks of frontline officers, as well as introducing historic changes to disaster assistance and eligibility for primary producers.

Minister for Primary Industries Tony Perrett said the Crisafulli Government was delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy.

"Regardless of where you live, every Australian benefits from the hard work, investment and commitment of farmers who produce food, fibre, and foliage every day of the year, which is why the Queensland Government stands with the land," Minister Perrett said.

"Strong biosecurity is critical for farmers, under Labor the between 2015 and 2022, the biosecurity workforce dropped by 20.2 per cent under Labor.

"We are beefing up biosecurity to support industry with 100 new front-line officers this term, 25 per cent have already been delivered.

"We are taking a whole of government approach to supporting primary producers by collaborating and coordinating across government to resolve challenges faced by the industry."
