Queensland Man Extradited for Pursuit, Domestic Violence

A man has been extradited from Queensland and will face court over alleged domestic violence, pursuit and weapons offences.

About 8.30pm on Sunday 22 February 2026, police were called to an address on Henry Lawson Drive, East Hills, following reports a 21-year-old man had threatened a 23-year-old man – known to him – with a machete, before he got into a vehicle and drove at the man, hitting him.

The 21-year-old left the scene in a second vehicle – a black van.

There were no serious injuries.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene, and investigators from the South West Metropolitan Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team (SWMR DVHROT) commenced an investigation into the incident.

About 8.30pm on Tuesday 3 March 2026, police attempted to stop the black van on the Hume Highway, at Casula.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated however, terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

The vehicle was later located abandoned on Cedar Road, Casula.

About 4.30pm on Tuesday 10 March 2026, police initiated the pursuit of a blue SUV – allegedly driven by the 21-year-old man – after it failed to stop on Merrylands Road, Merrylands.

The SUV allegedly hit several parked vehicles before the pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns.

Following inquiries, officers from Queensland Police Service arrested the 21-year-old man at a resort on Wharf Rd, Surfers Paradise, on outstanding warrants.

Investigators from the SWMR DVHROT travelled to the Southport Magistrates Court in Queensland where an extradition to NSW was granted.

Yesterday (Friday 27 March 2026), the man was transported to Mascot Police Station where two outstanding warrants were executed for the offences of predatory driving, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and several other driving and pursuit-related offences.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 7 today (Saturday 28 March 2026).
