Minister for Local Government and Water and Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers The Honourable Ann Leahy
  • The Crisafulli Government is seeking public feedback to shape the State's 10-year volunteering plan.
  • Feedback will build on the Parliamentary Inquiry into Volunteering, delivering on the Crisafulli Government's commitment to take action and strengthen the sector.
  • The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland's future, ensuring volunteering thrives in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond.

The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland's future and calling for volunteers, organisations, and people interested in volunteering across the State to help shape the 10-year plan that will deliver a stronger, more sustainable volunteering sector in Queensland.

The consultation builds on the Parliamentary Inquiry into Volunteering in Queensland, which the Crisafulli Government committed to as part of its plan to fix a decade of underinvestment and neglect of the sector under Labor.

Developing the 10-year volunteering plan is a key action on the back of that commitment and shows the Crisafulli Government is delivering real outcomes for Queensland.

The Crisafulli Government is ensuring volunteering is strong, supported and ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead, including the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, after a decade of decline and neglect under Labor.

Minister for Volunteers Ann Leahy said feedback from a range of voices was critical to ensuring the 10-year volunteering plan reflected the needs of Queenslanders across the State.

"Volunteers are the backbone of our communities, and after a decade of neglect under Labor, the Crisafulli Government is taking real action to strengthen the sector and support the people who give so much to Queensland," Minister Leahy said.

"We are delivering a plan for Queensland's future, and we want to hear directly from volunteers, volunteering organisations and Queenslanders who are interested in getting involved. Their voices will help shape a stronger, more sustainable sector.

"This consultation is about listening to communities right across the state, including regional and remote areas, to make sure this plan reflects real experiences and delivers real outcomes where it matters most.

"Whether you're already volunteering, thinking about getting involved, or part of an organisation, we encourage you to have your say and help us build a volunteering sector that is fit for the future."

Online consultation is now open and will close 24 July 2026.
