Shadow Infrastructure Minister David O'Byrne has welcomed the RACT Greater Hobart Mobility Vision.
"Congratulations to the RACT for its hard work developing a vision for traffic and infrastructure challenges in Southern Tasmania," Mr O'Byrne said.
"Labor is committed to working with the RACT to build on this vision.
"Tasmania needs a stronger vision for infrastructure upgrades over the longer term yet unfortunately the Liberal Government is missing in action.
"The Government's own 30-year infrastructure strategy has embarrassingly already been delayed three times.
"Meanwhile the Revised Estimates Report shows spending on infrastructure will fall by $83 million in 2020-21 and a further $50 million in 2021-22.
"The Hodgman Government is not investing in infrastructure and has no long-term vision to solve traffic issues in Southern Tasmania.
"It is little wonder then that 87 percent of people say traffic is getting worse under the Liberals.
"Southern commuters stuck in traffic are sick of words. They want to be home to their families sooner or getting on with their work rather than sitting in gridlock.
"The Government should not be leaving it up to the RACT to do the hard yards on traffic. It is typical of the Liberals' hands-off approach."
