Rape charge, Redland Bay

Queensland Police have charged a Macleay Island man following ongoing investigations into the alleged rape of a teenage girl at Redland Bay this week.

Ongoing investigations by Wynnum Child Protection and Investigation Unit led to a 41-year-old Macleay Island man with rape, indecent treatment of child under 16 (procure to commit) and using internet to procure child under 16 and intentionally meeting or going to meet child.

The man and 14-year-old victim were known to each other.

The man has been remanded in custody to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on Monday.
