Baw Baw Shire Council is undertaking a review of its Roadside and Footpath Trading Policy. Community members and business operators are invited to read, review, and provide their input as part of the Policy review process.
The Roadside and Footpath Trading Policy considers the needs of motorists, pedestrians, people with a disability, and footpath use in relation to roadside trading, advertising, merchandise displays and kerbside dining.
It aims to provide a balance between the economic and community benefits that roadside and footpath trading brings to towns and villages, and the legislative requirements of Council to enhance accessibility and protect the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
The review aims to ensure that the Policy remains current and consistent with its objectives, identify any emerging issues or potential improvements, and ensure that the Policy is easily understandable and enforceable.
Interested community members can view the Roadside and Footpath Trading Policy and have their say on Council's website by visiting www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay.
All feedback provided on the Policy will be considered throughout the review process and any resulting amendments.
This consultation opportunity is open until Friday 10 September.
