Real Cost Of Net Zero To Take Centre Stage In Biloela

Colin Boyce MP

Federal Member for Flynn, Colin Boyce has organised a community forum in Biloela on September 8 for residents to share their experiences dealing with renewable projects and the impact of Net Zero policies on rural and regional Australia.

Mr Boyce said the greater Central Queensland region is under attack from Net Zero policies primarily, the reckless renewables' rollout.

"The forum will be an important opportunity for affected communities to come together and discuss large scale renewable projects in the region and to share their stories," Mr Boyce.

"With over 90 projects in the electorate of Flynn, it's important to highlight the issues facing neighbours and those affected, with noise, visual amenity, powerlines, clearing and sediment control, bushfires, aviation issues, environmental flora and fauna just to name a few.

"According to the Institute of Public Affairs our region will be hit the hardest if Australia continues down the path of Net Zero by 2050.

"Over 16,000 jobs - or 24% of the workforce in the electorate of Flynn will be put at risk due to these emissions targets which are destroying Australia's prosperity while lowering our standard of living.

"Now, more than ever, rural and regional Australia needs to come together and take a stand to oppose Net Zero and this forum will be an important first step."
