The Albanese Government has reappointed Ms Jill Rossouw as the High Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) Chair, and Mr Ian Hunt and Ms Dyan Perry OBE as HSRA Board members.
Ms Rossouw, Mr Hunt and Ms Perry have served on the HSRA Board since its creation on 13 June 2023, and their reappointments will provide stability and continuity of key skills to the HSRA Board and the project progresses through the planning and development stage.
Ms Rossouw is a seasoned executive within the infrastructure sector and has held several directorships across many major private and public projects.
Under her stewardship as HSRA Board Chair, the HSRA delivered the business case for the Newcastle to Sydney section of the high-speed rail network, which independent advisory body Infrastructure Australia subsequently supported to progress to the next stage of project development.
Mr Hunt is highly credentialled with both board and CEO experience across major transport and logistics infrastructure projects, including as former CEO of the Moorebank Intermodal Company.
He provides the HSRA Board with strong project delivery, contract management, risk and governance skills.
Ms Perry has over 30 years' experience in lead roles in major rail projects, including leading the High Speed 1 and as a board director for the East West Rail UK project.
She provides the HSRA Board with an incredible depth of experience in leading and operating high-speed rail in the UK, for which she was recognised as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for contribution to rail services in the UK.
Ms Rossouw's reappointment as HSRA Chair for a three-year term, with Mr Hunt and Ms Perry's reappointments as members for two-year and six-month terms respectively, will support HSRA as it moves into the next stage of the project.
