Rebecca Ellston appointed new TAS Executive Director

The Property Council of Australia is pleased to announce Rebecca Ellston as its new Tasmanian Executive Director.

Ms Ellston has most recently worked as the Senior Media Adviser to the Tasmanian Premier. She has previously also worked in advisory roles within the Attorney-General of Tasmania's Office and prior to this as the State Political Reporter for WIN News.

Property Council Chief Executive Ken Morrison said Ms Ellston was the right person to lead the organisation in Tasmania, at a time where the state is focussed on a construction-led recovery and building their way out of the pandemic.

"We are thrilled that a such an experienced communications professional and passionate advocate for Tasmania as Rebecca will be joining the Property Council's executive team at a time when the state is accelerating its social and economic recovery." Mr Morrison said.

Ms Ellston said she was delighted to be appointed to represent an industry which has such an important role to play in rebuilding Tasmania's economy to the powerhouse it was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The entire country continues to face unprecedented challenges as we begin to recover from the pandemic, and I intend to be a strong voice for Tasmania and the role this industry can play in the state's recovery strategy." Ms Ellston said.

"Tasmania will need a strong property industry to recover from this pandemic so we will need policies that help the industry create more jobs."

"I look forward to working with members, stakeholders and across all levels of government to ensure that the industry continues to boost business confidence, drive investment and support jobs as we work together to rebuild."

Ms Ellston will commence with the Property Council on 1 February 2021.
