The Finocchiaro CLP Government continues driving the Northern Territory's biggest year of motorsport forward, with the Red CentreNATS roaring into Alice Springs this Father's Day long weekend.
Known as Australia's 'Ultimate Festival of Wheels,' the event will deliver a turbo-charged program of cars, cruising and fierce competition from its new base at Lasseters Centre of Excellence and the Alice Springs Convention Centre.
A truly unique Territory tradition, Red CentreNATS is the only event in Australia where approved, unregistered vehicles can cruise public roads through the iconic Red Centre.
Minister for Major Events and Tourism and Hospitality Marie-Clare Boothby said the major event boosts tourism and economic activity in Alice Springs, with 2025 shaping up to be another standout year.
"For more than a decade, Red CentreNATS has been revving up Alice Springs and drawing thousands of car enthusiasts to the heart of the Territory each year," said Ms Boothby.
"This is another highlight on the calendar for the Territory's biggest year of motorsport ever, which will attract a combined total of 100,000 attendances from locals to interstate and international visitors.
"During our year of action, certainty and security, our government is backing major events that put our great regions on the map while delivering real benefits for our communities and businesses."
The action kicks off early this year with the new Red CentreNATS Night Markets & Fringe Festival on Thursday before the three-day festival takes over the town with burnouts, show 'n' shine battles, the Yeperenye Street Parade and Mulletfest along with new additions including Roll Racing under lights, Dirt Drags, and more.
Other highlights include the Top Doorslammer Family Feud drag showdown between husband-and-wife duo Lisa and Daniel Gregorini and 11-time champion John Zappia with his 19-year-old nephew Brodie, the Heavy Hitters drag race with its $20,000 prize pool and Father's Day Breakfast.
Summernats CEO Andy Lopez said: "We've been celebrating our shared love of horsepower in Alice Springs for more than 10 years now, and the enthusiasm and love people have for the event is incredible."
"Our entrants come from all across the country to be part of the event, bringing their passion for all things automotive and their incredible vehicles to the Northern Territory.
"They fill the accommodation, restaurants and shops and bring a vibe to town that the local enthusiasts return in kind. If you love cars and bikes or just having a great time in a spectacular part of the country, Red CentreNATS is such a great place to be."
This event is supported by the CLP Government through the Northern Territory Major Events Company, presented by new naming rights partner LMCT+ and delivered in partnership with Summernats.
