A generous Regents Park woman is set to dazzle her loved ones with surprise bank account deposits and treat herself to a sparkling new diamond ring after scratching her way to a $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its top prize.
The Logan resident's winning $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Regents Park News & Casket Agency, Shop 2, 3374 Mount Lindesay Hwy, Regents Park.
When we called to confirm the winning news, the elated woman reminisced about the thrilling moment she checked her winning ticket at her local outlet.
"I'm feeling very grateful," she said.
"I've always been generous, and my husband said he thinks this is my turn to experience what it's like to be on the receiving end.
"When I went into my local outlet to check the ticket, the outlet owner got very excited.
"I'll never forget him jumping up and down, and saying to me, 'You've won! I can't pay you here because you won $100,000!'. I just turned back to him and screamed, 'What?!'.
"It was a phenomenal moment.
"Funnily enough, I decided sometime last year to start waking up every day and walking around like I'd won a major lottery prize. Now it has actually come true!"
With $100,000 heading her way, the grateful woman shared she was looking forward to lending a helping hand to others and treating herself.
"I've always loved giving to others. I have everything I need in life - I've always felt rich because I have great family and friends," she shared.
"I've had hard times in my life and people have always helped me, so now I give back as much as possible.
"I'd love to surprise close family and friends with deposits into their bank accounts.
"I'm thinking I'll buy myself a new diamond ring and keep it as a memory of this win."
Regents Park News & Casket Agency owner Puneet Arora shared he was thrilled to hear his little outlet had sold a top prize-winning ticket to a local customer.
"We were so shocked and happy to hear one of our customers had won a $100,000 top prize," he said.
"It's such great news for our little store. We hope to continue changing our customers' lives.
"We'll be celebrating this milestone for a while to come. We're planning to decorate the entire store and spread the word on social media.
"The last time we sold a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was in November 2020, so it's great to add another win to our list.
