The meeting of the 24th WHO Expert Committee on Selection and Use of Essential Medicines will be held from 24 to 28 April 2023 at WHO Headquarters in Geneva, to revise and update the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines (EML) and the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines for Children (EMLc).
Registrations are now open for the Open Session of the meeting will be held on Monday 24 April 2023, from 14:00 to 17:00 CEST (UTC+2), in Salle T, WHO Headquarters, Geneva. Virtual connection via Zoom will also be available.
The Open Session provides an opportunity for individuals and partners external to WHO to listen to an update on current and future activities of the EML Secretariat, or to provide comment on issues relating to the meeting agenda through short presentations or statements.
Individuals wishing to attend the Open Session in person are required to register here by Monday 10 April 2023. You will be notified about the status of your registration request by Friday 14 April 2023.
Individuals wishing to attend the Open Session virtually are required to register here by Friday 21 April 2023.
Individuals or organizations wishing to make a presentation or statement during the open Session are required to register their interest to do so via email to the EML Secretariat by Monday 10 April 2023, providing the following information:
- Name
- Organization
- Email address
- Statement request details (e.g. topic or application number)
- In person or virtual attendance
While every effort will be made to accommodate all requests for attendance and presentations/statements, this may not be possible due to capacity and time constraints.

Please note that any expenses incurred for attending the Open Session will be the responsibility of the attendee(s).
