Repeat Drink Driving Charges in Home Hill and Ayr, QLD

Police have charged a 37-year-old Ayr man with multiple traffic offences that occurred in Home Hill and Ayr overnight, Queensland Police say.

At around 7.20pm, police intercepted a silver Holden Commodore at Queen Street, Ayr for the purpose of a roadside breath test.

As a result, the driver was charged with one count each of drive under the influence of liquor, unlicensed driving, drive unregistered vehicle, drive uninsured vehicle and drive without registration plates.

At around 10.00pm, police allegedly intercepted the same silver Holden Commodore driving at Ninth Avenue, Home Hill.

It will be alleged that the driver was the same man from the earlier incident at Ayr.

The driver performed a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive reading.

As a result, the man was charged with offences identical to incident in Ayr.

He is due to appear at Ayr Magistrates Court on March 22.

Police would like to use these incidents as an opportunity to remind the public to be mindful of the Fatal 5, particularly drink driving.
