Replica Firearms Seized, Man Charged - South Coast

A man has been arrested and charged after police seized a number of replica firearms on the state's South Coast.

In November 2024, officers attached to South Coast Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged possession of firearms by a 69-year-old man.

Following enquires, about 7am today (Tuesday 20 May 2025), police, with the assistance of officers attached to the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad, executed a search warrant at a house on the Kings Highway, Nelligen.

During a search of the house, police allegedly located several replica firearms, a baton and an amount of drugs.

A 69-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.

The man was charged with two counts of acquire etc firearm - subject to prohibition order, possess unauthorised pistol and possess unauthorised firearm.

He was refused bail to appear before Bega Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 21 May 2025).
