Monash Council's 2024/25 Annual Report provides a comprehensive account of our performance, showcasing our commitment to transparency, accountability and good governance, and detailing how we've delivered on the objectives set out in our Council Plan 2021–2025.
Some of our key achievements in 2024/25 included:
- Opening the Bogong Car Park extension in Glen Waverley, adding more than 500 free parking spaces within walking distance of Kingsway
- Opening three early years hubs in Mount Waverley, Oakleigh South and Oakleigh East and delivering services where families can connect support and programs under one roof.
We have also advocated for our community across a broad range of issues, including calling for:
- better protections for Monash's tree canopy
- a delay the roll out of new glass bins across Victoria
- ensuring our suburbs retain what makes them special and infrastructure keeps with up our growing population as the Victorian Government makes changes to the planning system.
The Annual Report also outlines how our day-to-day work kept Monash functioning in 2024/25. We collected more than 66 million kilograms of waste (garbage, recycling and green waste), planted 3,221 trees in our streets and reserves, hosted 2,510 events at our libraries with more than 67,000 attendees, received 1,045 planning applications and answered 182,545 phone calls.
