Residents urged to continue to recycle

Macedon Ranges Shire Council is reassuring residents that recyclable materials placed in their yellow-lidded bins will still be recycled despite the closure of a major processing company.

Council's waste contractor Four Seasons Waste sends the shire's recyclables for processing to SKM Recycling, which has announced it will close all its sites.

Acting Director Assets and Operations, Anne-Louise Lindner said Council would work with its contractor to make alternative arrangements to send the shire's recycling to a different processing facility.

"Council is committed to resource recovery and does not intend to send any of the shire's recycling to landfill," Ms Lindner said.

"It's business as usual when it comes to recycling for our residents."
