Return to Custody

An 83-year-old man was returned to custody today after breaching his parole order conditions.

Queensland Corrective Services applied to Parole Board Queensland for the suspension of the man's exceptional circumstances parole order after he breached the conditions of the order, which included not leaving his approved place of residence without approval from QCS.

Parole Board Queensland considered the application and issued a return to prison warrant for the man, and he was taken into custody by Queensland Police Service late this morning.

People on parole orders are supervised according to the individual conditions set by Parole Board Queensland or the courts to minimise their risk to public safety.

Queensland Corrective Services commends the officers who detected the breach and then took action to have the man's parole order suspended.
