South Australia is undergoing a comprehensive change to the land use planning system. A new Planning and Design Code is to replace every Council Development Plan and will be the single source of planning policy for assessing development applications.

The section relating to metropolitan councils has undergone consultation at the start of the year, and the State Planning Commission has made amendments to the draft Planning and Design Code in response to the submissions. The Planning and Design Code has now been re-released for consultation until Friday 18 December 2020.

The City of Salisbury strongly encourages you to familiarise yourself with the new planning policies as these will apply to your land, and make submissions as considered necessary to the State Planning Commission. Information on accessing the information and making submissions can be found in the FAQ information sheet from the State Planning Commission.
