Revocation of police officer stand down in Brisbane Region, QLD

A 43-year-old detective sergeant from the Brisbane Region who was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service has now been reinstated to perform operational duties, Queensland Police say.

The officer was the subject of an investigation that he conducted unauthorised searches on the Queensland Police Service QPRIME computer system not connected with official duties.

As a result, he was issued with a notice to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court in relation to one charge of computer hacking, section 408E of the Criminal Code Act 1899, which was finalised on November 21, 2017 by way of his plea of guilty.

Queensland Police Service internal discipline proceedings have also now been finalised.
