Rider dies in hospital after crash in Moorebank

A woman has died in hospital after a crash in Sydney's south-west overnight.

Emergency services were called to Heathcote Road, Moorebank, after reports a scooter rider and a car collided about 11.35pm (Saturday 19 September 2020).

Police have been told the rider – a 27-year-old woman – had stopped at a red light when a Honda HRV allegedly crashed into the back of her scooter.

The woman suffered critical head injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where she died this morning (Sunday 20 September 2020).

The driver of the Honda – a 32-year-old man – suffered a back injury and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing and treatment.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
