Ringwood Police Foil Carjacking

Two teens were in the wrong place, doing the wrong thing, at the wrong time when officers foiled an alleged attempted carjacking in Ringwood late last night.

It is alleged that two males threatened to carjack two vehicles on Seymour Street about 11.15pm.

Ringwood officers, receiving live updates from a witness, caught sight of the second alleged carjacking playing out.

Police moved in quickly to arrest the alleged offenders.

One male attempted to flee the scene.

Due to the alleged offender having access to further victims and their vehicles, a taser was deployed.

Both males were arrested and there were no injuries.

A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, both from the Maroondah area, will be interviewed by investigators.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has footage or any information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
