Riverside Theatres announces new star-studded live digital shows

Riverside Theatres, Western Sydney's premier performing arts venue, has launched a star-studded series of live digital concerts while doors are closed due to COVID-19.

The weekly Riverside Theatres Digital series kicks off on Sunday 31 May with "You'll Never Walk Alone", a musical theatre concert directed by Helpmann Award-winner Luke Joslin with stars Penny McNamee, Michael Cormick, Rachael Beck, Daniel Belle and Robert McDougall, and legendary musical director Michael Tyack AM on piano.

On Sunday 7 June, The Wharf Revue's Jonathan Biggins and Phil Scott will deliver a masterclass in cabaret in their side-splitting show, "No Cabaret for Old Men".

"Riverside Theatres has been the centrepiece of performance culture in Western Sydney for more than 30 years but its recent temporary closure has meant there are no bustling foyers or live performances," City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer said.

"We need our arts community to continue to tell our stories, dance our dances, play our music and sing our songs during these challenging times. Riverside Theatres Digital offers a brand new and unique viewing experience, bringing world-class entertainment right into our homes."

Riverside Theatres Digital shows will be live-streamed via YouTube every Sunday from 5pm. More concerts will be announced over the coming weeks and tickets start from $12.

"We hope to delight you in your home, until we can welcome you back again to ours," Riverside Theatres Director Robert Love said.

Riverside Theatres temporarily closed its doors to the public on Monday 23 March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with federal and state government requirements.
