Road closures for Mother's Day Classic – Gold Coast 2017

Gold Coast police would like to remind motorists of upcoming road closures due to the Mother’s Day Classic – Gold Coast 2017 a fun run/walk event raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research, being conducted on Sunday May 14, 2017, Queensland Police say.

The event is aimed at delivering a fun, healthy and inspirational event that brings the community together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer.

The event starts and finishes at Pratten Park, Broadbeach, with road closures to the following streets which will be in place from 5:30am until 10:30am on Sunday May 14, 2017:


•Broadbeach Blvd., Broadbeach from Chelsea Avenue and Queensland Avenue, Broadbeach
•Old Burleigh Rd, Broadbeach from Chelsea Avenue, Broadbeach and Hedges Avenue, Mermaid Beach
•Britannia Avenue, Broadbeach between Old Burleigh Rd and Broadbeach Blvd, Broadbeach
•Australia Avenue Broadbeach between Federation Ave and Broadbeach Blvd, Broadbeach
•Queensland Avenue, Broadbeach between Old Burleigh Rd and Broadbeach Blvd, Broadbeach
•Charles Avenue, Broadbeach from midway fork and Old Burleigh Rd, Broadbeach
•Margaret Avenue, Broadbeach from Mary Ave and Old Burleigh Rd, Broadbeach
•Alexandra Ave, Broadbeach from Mary Ave and Old Burleigh Rd, Broadbeach
•Victoria Avenue, Broadbeach along slip lane up to Albert Avenue, Broadbeach
•Hedges Avenue, Mermaid Beach from Old Burleigh Rd to Albatross Ave, Mermaid Beach
•All connecting roads to Hedges Avenue closed at the intersection to Hedges Avenue, Mermaid Beach
•All connecting roads to Seagull Avenue closed at the intersection with Seagull Avenue, Mermaid Beach
•Albatross Avenue, Mermaid Beach from Hedges Avenue to Lavarack Road, Mermaid Beach

Queensland Police request road users to be patient and avoid this area for non-essential travel during the morning of Sunday May 14, 2017.
