The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) moves south into Currumbin tomorrow and police are reminding residents of the importance to plan ahead, Queensland Police say.
The Currumbin Beachfront at Pacific Parade will provide the stage for the Athletics Race Walk event and will also be the start and finish location for the Cycling Road events.
The routes for the Cycling Road events will also run through the Currumbin Valley.
For tomorrow’s Athletics Race Walk, the following changes will be in place:
Police are asking residents to plan ahead, expect delays, be patient and follow directions from the officers and traffic controllers.
Vehicle access on the course will not be permitted during these times, so please ensure that your vehicle is parked in your residence or off the Race Route.
On-street parking will not be permitted during this time and any vehicles parked on the Race Route will be towed at the expense of the owner.
The Currumbin area will be busiest as spectators arrive and leave event sessions.
