Road rage stabbing in Brunswick East

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a man was stabbed during a road rage incident in Brunswick East this evening, Victoria Police say.

Police believe one car has cut another off at the intersection of Nicholson Street and Glenlyon Road shortly after 7.30pm.

Both cars have pulled over on Glenlyon Road and a man and woman have got out of each car and confronted each other.

The male driver of the car that was cut off has pulled out a knife and stabbed the other male driver, aged in his 40s, several times in the chest and leg.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The female passenger of the car that was cut off has assaulted the other female passenger.

She wasn’t injured during the incident.

The two offenders have then got back in their car and driven off.

Police believe a number of other drivers witnessed the incident and would like those people to make contact with police.

Investigators are also urging any motorists in the area to review any dash cam footage they may have and contact police if they have anything that may be of assistance.

The offenders are both perceived to be Asian in appearance and were driving a small blue car.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
