Police from North Brisbane District were at Kallangur yesterday as part of the Queensland Police Service Christmas road safety campaign, Queensland Police say.

Officers from the North Brisbane District engaged with drivers on Dohles Rocks Road, as part of Operation Yield targeting the Fatal Five – speeding, drink and drug driving, distraction, fatigue and seat belts.

During yesterday’s operation, police stopped over 600 cars. Police issued two traffic infringement notices and conducted 503 random breath tests.

Two people were arrested for driving whilst disqualified and drug driving and a further one was changed following an investigation into stealing offences.

The safety of motorist in the North Brisbane District and across Queensland, is paramount and todays results show the safety message is getting across to the community.

A number of traffic operations are planned across the North Brisbane District and police want everyone to be safe of the Christmas and New Year period.

The Christmas road safety campaign, commenced December 14 and continues through until February.
