Road safety review for Lindsay Street

Road Safety Review for Lindsay Street

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has committed to undertaking a road safety review along Lindsay Street, between Bridge and Margaret Streets.

With the review expected to be completed later this year, TRC Infrastructure Committee Portfolio Lead Cr Melissa Taylor said the review would include a road safety audit, speed assessment review and a parking review.

"I've spoken to members of the community who have raised concerns about this section of Lindsay Street," Cr Taylor said.

"Being so close to Queens Park, the Cobb & Co Museum and other amenities, we know this is a part of the city which attracts a lot of traffic.

"There are diverse road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, visitors and young children on bikes and scooters so we need to take a broader look at what measures can be implemented to increase safety for all users.

"Through this review we will be able to identify what potential changes should be implemented, whether that be a reduction in the speed limit, a new design for parking or something else."

As part of the review, Council will consult with relevant State Government agencies with a report to be brought to Council later this year.
