Roadside slashing across Mitchell Shire will begin in late November, with Council crews preparing to reduce long grass and vegetation along key routes in preparation for the fire danger period.
The annual program is an important part of Council's fire prevention efforts, helping to manage fuel loads and improve visibility for motorists.
At the same time, Council's parks and gardens teams have been out mowing town entrances and open spaces, taking advantage of the recent sunshine to stay on top of rapid spring growth.
These works are helping to keep town entrances looking neat and welcoming while also supporting community safety as the weather warms up.
Remember, if you live in an area that could be impacted by grass or bushfires, preparing your property is essential to reducing the risk of damage.
