Robberies with violence at Maroochydore

Police are seeking assistance to identify a man who was involved in two violent robberies at Maroochydore this morning.

Around 5:30am, a woman was attempting to leave her residence on Pringle Court when she was approached by a man.

The man threatened her with a knife and stole her blue Toyota RAV4, leaving the street in a northerly direction.

Earlier, a man approached a residence on Broadsea Avenue and threatened a resident. When challenged by the male resident, the man left the address.

The resident was not physically injured.

Investigators believe that the two incidents are linked and are looking for a man who is Caucasian in appearance, around 30-years-old with a thin build. He was also wearing a black hat at the time.

Police are appealing for the man, or anyone else who may have information, to come forward.
