Robbery charge in Collingwood Park, QLD

A man has been charged following an incident in Collingwood Park early this morning, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 1.30am, the man has entered a residence on Whitlam Drive and threatened a male resident. The male resident and another resident then hid in a room and contacted police.

It is further alleged the man then removed a number of items from the house and as he was leaving the house police arrived. The man saw police arrive and fled the scene over a fence.

He was located a short time later after being tracked by a police dog.

A 21-year-old man was charged with one count each of armed robbery and entering a dwelling with intent.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, October 10.
