Robbery with violence at Highfields

Police have laid charges after a 22-year-old man was allegedly assaulted before having his car stolen from a Highfields residence last month.

It will be alleged around 9.40pm on March 26, three people attended a Hi Winds Drive home where the man was assaulted.

The man's car was allegedly stolen from the address and was later located abandoned in Toowoomba.

The man sustained non life-threatening head injuries and was transported to the Toowoomba Base Hospital for treatment.

Police charged a 27-year-old Yamanto man yesterday with one count of robbery with violence, enter dwelling with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He is expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.

A 38-year-old Gatton woman was also charged with one count of robbery with violence, enter dwelling with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on March 29 where she was remanded in custody to reappear on May 17.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and are searching for another man in relation to the incident.
