Robbery with violence at Southport, QLD

Gold Coast detectives are seeking public assistance in their investigation of a robbery with violence and unlawful use of motor vehicle incident at Southport this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 6.40am, a 68-year-old man was seated in the passenger seat of his vehicle parked outside a Queen Street business, when a man entered the vehicle and attempted to drive away.

The pair became involved in a struggle prior to the man producing two knives. The victim received some minor lacerations to his arms and legs during the altercation and as a result of being dragged a short distance by the vehicle

The man drove off in the vehicle which was last seen travelling long Queen Street towards Wardoo Street in Southport.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The vehicle is described as a blue 2003 Holden Rodeo utility with Queensland registration OOO759.
