Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery with violence in Townsville yesterday morning, 28 November.
It will be alleged around 2am the man gained entry to an Anne Street address in Vincent and stole a number of items, including the keys to a grey Toyota Granvia van.
It will be further alleged that when confronted by the occupant, a 77-year-old man, he assaulted the man leaving him with minor injuries.
The suspect is then alleged to have then fled the scene in the Toyota.
The vehicle was located a short time later outside a Garbutt address and a 19-year-old Aitkenvale man was taken into custody.
The man has been charged with two counts of enter dwelling with intent and one count each of robbery, unlawful use of motor vehicle, driving without due care and attention, and driving without a driver license.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Townsville Magistrates Court on 29 November.
The 77-year-old man was transported to hospital for assessment.
