Robbery with violence charges in Southport, QLD

Four boys have been charged following a robbery that occurred in Southport overnight, Queensland Police say.

Shortly after 9pm, three boys approached two men who were sitting at a table outside a restaurant on Nerang Street and the group became involved in an altercation.

As a result, one of the four allegedly threatened a 22-year-old man with a knife and took a glass from a table and assaulted one of the men with it before kicking him and stealing his phone.

The second man, a 27-year-old, was allegedly punched and kicked by the group and they have stolen a tablet computer and wallet before they fled the scene on foot.

Four boys were located a short time later by police and were taken into custody.

The 22-year-old man was transported to hospital with a laceration to his head and lacerations to his hand.

The 27-year-old was treated on scene for minor injuries.

A 16-year-old Upper Coomera boy has been charged with unlawful possession of suspected stolen property,

A 14-year old Surfers Paradise boy has been charged with two counts of robbery in company.

A 16-year-old Southport by has been charged with two counts of robbery in company and one count of wounding.

A 15–year-old Mermaid Waters boy has been charged with two counts of robbery in company.
