Robbery with violence charges in Woolloongabba, QLD

Detectives from Morningside have charged four teenagers following investigations into a robbery that occurred in Woolloongabba earlier this week, Queensland Police say.

On Tuesday December 5 at around 10:20pm, a woman travelling on public transport exited at a bus stop on Ipswich Road, Buranda when she was allegedly approached by teenagers also exiting at the same bus stop.

It will be further alleged, a teenage girl asked the woman for money, which she refused and continued to walk along Tottenham Street.

The three teenagers allegedly followed the woman asking for money and demanding her mobile phone. When the woman refused to hand over her phone, one of teenage boys allegedly punched her in the eye.

She was allegedly further assaulted by another teenage girl causing her to fall to the ground injuring her face. The teenagers allegedly continued to assault the woman and took the phone before fleeing.

The woman sustained bruising and lacerations as a result of the incident.
Police located the four teenagers yesterday and were taken into custody.

Two 14-year-old Inala girls have been charged with one count each of robbery in company with personal violence.

A 14-year-old Goodna boy and a 12-year-old Stafford boy have both been charged one count each of robbery in company with personal violence.
