Robbery with violence, Clayfield

Police are making a public appeal for dashcam footage to help identify a group of four men following an alleged robbery with violence in Clayfield this morning.

Around 5.15am the group entered a shop on Junction Road, striking a 73-year-old male employee with a tyre iron and stealing a quantity of cigarettes before fleeing in a stolen red Mitsubishi ASX station wagon, registration number 973ZBA.

The victim was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with minor head injuries and the vehicle was recovered shortly after in a nearby suburb.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed something suspicious – or may have captured dashcam footage – along Dawson Street and Sandgate Road between 5.10am and 5.25am to come forward. Investigations continue.
