Robbery with violence, police pursuit – Spring Hill

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a ride sharing driver at Spring Hill last night, Queensland Police say.

Around 9.20pm a man, armed with a firearm, approached the passenger side of the vehicle parked on Leichhardt Street, threatening the driver before stealing his vehicle.

The 40-year-old ride sharing driver was not injured.

When officers attempted to intercept the car turning from Herston Road into Kelvin Grove Road the vehicle failed to stop, evading police.

Police followed the vehicle activating their emergency lights and siren. The vehicle continued travelling at speed along Newmarket Road and Lutwyche Road.

The car then collided with two vehicles stopped at a red light before speeding away.

No one was injured.

A short pursuit was authorised, but due to the dangerous manner in which the vehicle was being driven, it was terminated.

The stolen vehicle was last seen turning left into Lutwyche Road.

Investigations are continuing.
