Infrastructure Minister Jeremy Rockliff has serious questions to answer over delays to the new Spirits the Liberals promised.
Shadow Infrastructure Minister David O'Byrne said Jeremy Rockliff must answer:
- When he learned the ferries would not be delivered on time
- Why he kept those details secret
- How much money has been spent sending people back and forth to Europe for crisis talks with the shipbuilder
- When the Spirits would actually be delivered
"It is not good enough for the Minister to go to ground after issuing a meek press release yesterday," Mr O'Byrne said.
"For five months Jeremy Rockliff has been saying 'nothing to see here' - the hands off approach is not good enough.
"He needs to come clean today and give Tasmanians - including local producers who made business decisions based on Mr Rockliff's promises - a truthful account of the Government's fumbling process.
"The dishonesty and secrecy from Jeremy Rockliff needs to stop."
