Rocks thrown at buses at Palm Beach, QLD

Police investigating incidents of rocks being thrown at two buses at Palm Beach last night are appealing for public assistance, Queensland Police say.

Between 9pm and 9.15pm two buses travelling along the Gold Coast Highway near the exit with Thrower Drive had their windscreens damaged when rocks were thrown at them.

Two Tasmanian tourists- a 78-year-old woman and her 80-year-old husband- sustained very minor cuts to their hands when they were showered with glass from a smashed windscreen. The pair did not require medical treatment.

Police, including the dog squad conducted searches in the area however the offender/s had fled the scene.
