The Council's Roy Hill Pavilion at the Benalla Sports and Equestrian Centre has been refurbished with updated showers, toilets, kiosk and meeting areas.

The upgrade, which has been led by the Raise the Roof Committee and funded by a $246,500 grant from the Australian Government, has been completed in time for the Benalla and District Adult Top Teams Trophy Dressage 2019 from 15 – 17 November. The event is expected to attract up to 500 horses and riders.

The Roy Hill Pavilion is home to many equestrian clubs and other community sporting groups.

Mayor, Cr Scott Upston, said the Council was proud to work with community groups to support growing community needs.

"We're grateful to the Raise the Roof Committee for their dedication to this project," Cr Upston said.

"The Raise the Roof Committee identified the need for this upgrade, sourced the funding and have now managed the build.

"Congratulations to the Raise the Roof Committee on their initiative and drive," said Cr Upston.
