The Australian Army has celebrated the Graduation and Commissioning of its next generation of leaders at the Royal Military College - Duntroon.
The Corps of Staff Cadets was joined by the Governor-General, foreign dignitaries, Army leaders, as well as their family and friends.
This celebration is the culmination of a trainee's time at the College, and recognises the hard work, dedication and professionalism necessary to turn Staff Cadets into some of the most capable junior officers in the Australian Defence Force.
The Graduation parade provides an opportunity for loved ones of graduates to celebrate their achievements. The December 2021 Graduation is particularly special as it will be the culmination of a very tough 12-18 months of training impacted by COVID restrictions on several occasions.
The Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General Rick Burr AO DSC MVO, said Army's people are its most important asset, we do not succeed unless we work together as a team and those teams are well led.
"Leading Australian soldiers, or any soldiers, is an extraordinary privilege and responsibility. It can be challenging, but immensely rewarding. Our soldiers expect and deserve nothing less than the best leadership from our junior officers," Lieutenant General Burr said.
RMC-D prepares Army's future leaders by promoting integrity, inspiring high-ideals and by instilling a sense of duty, loyalty and service to the nation.
Situated at the former Campbell homestead at Duntroon, the college was opened in 1911 to oversee the initial military training of all officers in the Australian Army.
