Rubbish truck stolen - man arrested, SA

Police have arrested a man after he allegedly stole a rubbish truck in Adelaide overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after midnight on Tuesday 3 April, a driver had parked his rubbish truck near the intersection of East terrace and Grenfell Street and returned short time later to find it missing.

Thankfully the truck was fitted with a tracking device which directed police to the Gilberton area. Patrols quickly saturated the suburb and found the truck abandoned in Northcote Terrace. The suspect was located nearby and arrested.

The 37-year-old of no fixed address has been charged with illegal use, driving under the influence, drive unlicenced and refuse breath test.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
